I use a Telrad Finder. It is the quickest way around the sky, especially for a large diameter telescope. Only thing quicker is a Laser Finderscope. There are many different accessories for the Telrad. Batteries are ‘AA’s and last forever...nearly!
The Telrad Finder is used instead of a finderscope. The Telrad uses a bull's eye projected onto the back ground sky. There are many advantages:
- a very wide field of view
- image is not upside down
- aligned by three Knobs on the back
- portable to other scopes
